Aman & Mini are Hopeless on Indian Idol

Indian Idol

On Friday, 18 Feb, results of Indian Idol were declared. The 3 top contestants – Abhijeet, Amit Sana and Rahul Vaidya were all very good but one had to leave and so did Rahul Vaidya getting the least number of votes. This teenage guy has got a great future ahead and showed commendable maturity at the time when the results were declared. It’s really tough for anyone who leaves a competition.

The way, the hosts Aman Varma and Mini Mathur are handling the results part of the show is more pathetic than the main show. I really liked Anu Malik’s statement that if he chooses to send someone out of the show it would be Aman. Unfortunately it was taken in a laughter mood. (Not sure whether it was intended to).

The drama both the hosts create while declaring the results is cheap and discouraging. They asked some weird questions to Rahul after declaring the results, like how he was feeling after being voted out. What a baseless question to ask, what answer do you expect, Mini from Rahul? It was getting difficult for him to speak and these guys were asking hopeless questions.

More ever they also asked Rahul’s mother, what she was feeling. What do you expect her to say? Aman and Mini, I think you both are quite grown up to know what he or his family would be feeling at that moment and I’m sure the audience is also. If you don’t know what to ask better shut your mouth.

Later on, Mini added Rahul was out because audience didnot vote properly. Who the hell is she to make a comment like that. 35 Lacs votes are claimed to have received for the finals and they didn’t vote properly! Surprising! There is indeed no doubt that all the 3 contestants were very good but one has to lose. The show is structured in such a manner that you need more fan followers (who are voting for you) to take away the Indian Idol crown than anything else. As per the rules you have to vote for your favourite contestant and not vote against the one you don’t like. The fan followers of Amit and Abhijeet were more to take them to the finals. You can’t blame anyone for that. That’s common sense.

Inspite of getting so much of limelight and opportunity the hosts were so pale and pathetic. I think Sony television should come up with another talent hunt but this time for the comperes. But who will anchor the show. Hope fully not Aman and Mini.

All the very best to Amit and Abhijeet for the grand finale. I have voted for Amit Sana since he was in top 11. Hope he recovers completely for the finals. I have also voted for Abhijeet since last 4-5 rounds. He is getting better with each round.

I really hope the hosts handle the finals in a more respectable manner.
