Rang De Basanti...

A very tiring, exhausting, exciting and happening weekend…

Plans were made since long… a very long overdue Shirdi trip finally got materialized…
9 of us left for Shirdi on Saturday night… fun started the moment we all gathered together… and it continued till we parted on Sunday night…

Saturday I thought of putting a new post and blog hopping… but the crazy and maddening reviews of “Rang De Basanti” deferred my plans… On Friday itself some of my office colleagues gave fantastic review about the movie… then on Sat morning when I met Kiran … she too went ga ga over the movie… and I was like… I’ve to see this movie anyhow else it wud be difficult for me to resist till next weekend ;-)

I called up my friend and made the plans… and luckily we got the tickets @ Fame Adlabs… (160 per ticket… gosh that’s expensive…but the movie was all worth it)

Rang De Basanti… Wow what a gem of a movie that is… Loved it… Awesome direction… it’s a must watch… what an amazing blending of the freedom struggle in 1930 and the revolt of youth against dirty politics…

The attitude of current youth and their approach towards life is so damn real and true… we all can imagine ourselves in their shoes and our thoughts would be no different…
It’s so normal to see people crib about politics and politicians… we all do it…

Casting of the movie was too perfect… each character is so nicely portrayed and actors have done complete justice to their role… awesome performances…

Aamir Khan… he always reminds me of his dialogue from the movie “Dil Chahata hain”… “Waise bhi perfection to improve karna mushkil hota hain” (its difficult to improve perfection)… but this guy is managing to do that… he is simply superb… he just rocks…

Kunal Kapoor… girlz are gonna love her… he looks hot… and Sharnam Joshi doesn’t misses out on making you laugh… and the British Actress “Alice Patten” gives a terrific performance… specially her Hindi accent is just too good…

First I thought Aamir would have a big role to play and others will play a supporting cast… but it was nothing like that… (ofcourse Aamir got the upper hand by getting the heroine ;-) )

When I came out of the theater there were some guys with camera… they asked me about my opinion… wuuuuuhuuuuu…

Not to miss... the music of the movie is rocking… my fav song is Ruu-ba-ruu

aye saala
abhi abhi huaa yaqeen ki aag hai mujh mein kahi
hui subaah main chal gaya
suraj ko main nigal gaya
ruu-ba-ruu roshni heyy
ruu-ba-ruu roshni heyy

jo gumshuda-sa khwaab tha
voh mil gaya voh khil gaya
uulon hathaa pighal gaya
kichhaa kichhaa machal gaya
sitaar mein badal gaya
ruu-ba-ruu roshni heyy
ruu-ba-ruu roshni heyy

(dhuaan chhataa khula gagan mera
nayi dagar naya safar mera
jo ban sake tu hamsafar mera
nazar mila zara)

aandhiyon se jaghad rahi hai lau meri
ab mashaalon si bhad rahi hai lau meri
naamo nishaan rahe na rahe
ye kaaravaan rahe na rahe
ujaale mein pee gaya
roshan huaa jee gaya
kyon sehte rahe
ruu-ba-ruu roshni heyy

dhuaan chhataa khula gagan mera
nayi dagar naya safar mera
jo ban sake tu hamsafar mera
nazar mila zara
ruu-ba-ruu roshni heyy

I particularly liked this one dialogue where in Aamir says… I dun wanna move out of college campus… I feel my worth here… people know me… they have trust in me… I fear that once I’m out I’ll lost in the crowd of lakhs… and life would be so routine… work… earn money… and all…
I could very easily relate this to my life…

Seeing the movie just before the Shirdi trip surely added to the excitement…

I even heard some negative reviews… but after seeing the movie I’ve gone completely fidao…Finally after a long time a movie could live up to the hype it created before its release… next week I’m again gonna go for this movie…

Weird... Am I ???

Another tag… this time my the sweet cute girl Cheesy

I have to list down some weird things about myself…

While playing sports I equally use the left hand or left leg as the right one… am a left arm fast medium bowler but a right handed batsman… in soccer if I have to hit long I’ll use my left leg… but if I’ve to place n pass the ball I’ll prefer right… while playing badminton am equally confident with my backhands as forehands… even while playing bowling I use left hand but am not a left hander ;-)

I have a habit of lying on my bed and studying (or working on laptop)… if am too tired I sleep with books or laptop on my lap and with lights on…

Movies are like oxygen for me… I prefer to watch a movie a week… and if I don’t watch a movie in a week then next week I’ve to watch one at any cost… (I prefer watching it in theater than on CDs)

Sweets I can’t live without… I can have them 24/7… I never say no to sweets… (By sweets I mean the Indian sweets)… I have sweets after every meal ;-)

I’m extremely choosy when it comes to making friendship… and if someone hurts me by any of his/her behaviors… then I don’t compromise unless they apologize… even if it costs the entire relationship… be it with anyone…

I’ve a hell lot of stamina to flirt ;-)… seems that I never get tired ;-)

A very Happy Republic Day to my fellow Indians

Cheers

No one worth possessing can be quite possessed

Tags… I’ve got 6 pending to complete… ok ok don’t burst at me…
I’ll take all give me some time…

I’m tagged by two sweet people… Amutha & Susubala

No specific reason for taking this tag first…

Rules of the tag:
1. The tagged victim has to come up with 8 different points of their perfect lover.
2. Need to mention the sex of the target.
3. Tag 8 victims to join this game & leave a comment on their comments saying they've been tagged.
4. If tagged the 2nd time, there's no need to post again.

Perfect lover… well for me perfection is an illusion we strive for… and to be a lover one actually need not have any qualities… so I’ll list down 8 points I would look in my life-partner

Sex of target:
Has to be a female…

8 points I’ll look in my life-partner are (The list is not in chronological order):

1. Crazy about me: Crazy means absolutely crazy… I love to see that madness in eyes… (I want you at any cost kinds…)… a person who can give me priority over each and everyone (incl her parents)

2. Chemistry: No No… nothing to do with chemistry subject… it’s about the chemistry between both of us… it should rock… we need not have to change our basic traits to gel with each other.

3. Confidence: Confident about herself… confident about what she is doing and confidence to face the world irrespective of the consequences.

4. A Friend: I should be able to find a friend in her… with whom I can share all my thoughts irrespective of any fear… with whom I can fight for hours and again be best of friends the very next moment…
“The quarrels of lovers are like summer showers that leave the country more verdant and beautiful” - Susanne Curchod Necker

5. Pure Vegetarian: I’m sure this will surprise a lot of people… but yes this is one of the points I look for… don’t try to explain me logics… but I can’t enter into a serious relationship with someone who has a taste for non-veg… I always keep the doors open…

6. Good cook: I guess this point had to follow the above… not only someone who can cook good food but who can teach me also… I’m always ready to help her in kitchen… (I meant only help ;-))

7. Trust & Understanding: Actually this goes without saying in any relationship… an understanding where even a hugg can tell her how well or bad was my day :-)

8. Keep me guessing: Someone who can keep me guessing with surprises… life gets very monotonous after a point of time… I feel surprises are must to keep the spark burning…

Finally I’m thru…

Now the turn of 8 victims… (Of course if they are interested)
1. Dawn
2. Manish
3. Sophia
4. Phoenix rises
5. Kiran
6. Raj
7. Dewdrop
8. Deepa

Have a great week ahead

Comment here and you will…

How do you react when a message like this hits your cell or your mailbox???

“This message is originated from Shirdi (or Tirupathi or Sidhivinayak), make a wish and forward this to 9 people in next 9 minutes and your wish will come true… don’t break the chain… its true”

“This is a good luck message, forward this to 5 people and your valentine will be with you on this valentine day”
or …
You will get your true love…

or
Some such shit crap...

“This is a rare photo of Jesus or Sai baba or Tirupathi (or any other god)… forward this mail to 15 people in next 15 minutes and your wish will come true by 15th of next month”
Encl.: Attached Pic of that God…

To add… some mails will share the consequences of not forwarding the message…
Like some horrible bad thing would happen incase you break the chain… (And one mail went to the extent of mentioning about death)

Insane… completely…
Not only the ones who originate such messages but also the ones who blindly follow it…

How many of you really trust such messages… and forward it…
Or just because of the fear you forward it…
Or because you have free SMSs or mail forwarding doesn’t cost you anything you forward it…

Ye… I agree that miracles do happen… but ofcourse not by sending SMSs and forwards…
The ones who waste their time and others time in forwarding such messages... better devote that time in achieving the dream… they will rather have better chances of making it come true…
Unless they are into profession of sending spam mails and messages and are getting paid for it… in that case they must be achieving their daily targets ;-)

I very strongly react if someone sends such messages on my cell… be it from anyone…

Few days’ back a very good friend forwarded me a message saying… if you forward this message to 7 more people your valentine will be with you for life…
I immediately replied back…
I challenge this… by not sending to anyone… I’ll still have my valentine for life…

Sometimes I’ve given some nasty replies like…
Grow up… Education doesn’t mean just passing of examination…
If you really wanna achieve ur dream… stop sending SMSs and work for it…

And fortunately now I very rarely receive such messages…

On a lighter front... Just a weird thought…

What will happen if a Spam sender gets promoted to a Blogger…
His blog can have posts saying…

Post a comment every day and within one month your Blog will be awarded the best blog of the year

Post atleast 3 comments on every post and your blog will become the busiest blog…

Want to become the best blogger of the country… daily click this link 10times a day…
“I’m a Fool Blogger”

Want to become rich by doing nothing… visit this Blog every day for one year…
“Become Millionaire Blogger in a year”

.
.
.

Trust me... God has better ways to answer your wishes...
Coz he do answer to the ones who don't have a cell number or mail id ;-)
and I dun think having any of those makes anyone any special either :-))

Keep Rocking

Your feet can help lend a hand

Can Mumbai roads be so clean and so empty...
They were... just before the Marathon :-)

3 years back, when this Marathon run was started, I thought it would be just one off event and I ignored it, last year when I saw the live telecast of Marathon on TV, I was amazed seeing the spirit of people… it was overwhelming… people from all age group participated in this event… people came from different parts of the world …

At that time I decided, I’ll be a part of this event next year… and YES… I was…

I was fortunate that this year my company came up with the offer of participating in the Marathon and without hesitation I took it…

The Half Marathon (21 Kms) started at 7 AM... look at the enthusiasm... an hour later the Main Marathon started (42 Kms)

I participated in the "Dream Run" of 7 Kms... The most popular run of the Marathon... Near about 30,000 people had participated from all the age group... off which 18,000+ were in Dream Run...

Since last few years my body had become very stiff… I had lost the stamina I used to have during my teens… of course without exercise God won’t inject stamina into me…
My legs had forgotten that running is also an activity they are expected to do… except for changing gears and putting on breaks… (Of vehicle)… they barely performed any other work

During the last week of December, I motivated myself and started with morning jog…

did I said jog… Huhhhh… I must have jogged for only 10%-20% of the total time and the rest of the time I was walking… but that was expected… I continued with my walk cum jog… and with every passing day my stamina increased and now I walk 10%-20% of the total time and rest I jog…

Before the start of our Dream Run... we all enjoying the fun of being a part of this event.

My company supports people with Learning Disabilities (LD) as a key community initiative in active collaboration with the LD Clinic at the LTMG Hospital, Sion, Mumbai over the last three years…

And we all ran to support them…

Run for Learning Disabilities
Your feet can help lend a hand

This is what was printed on the t-shirts we were wearing

And... There we go... enjoying every second...

The atmosphere was so charged up... DJ was playing... celebrities cheering up... and as soon as the camera was spotted the enthusiasm doubled ;-)

The feet kept moving...

When thousands were running... there were hundreds of people cheering the entire participants...

And YES... Finally the photo @ finish... completed the run...

All the efforts were worth that experience… wow… its really a special feeling to be a part of this event… and now I’ll make sure that I participate next year also… and if I continue my morning jog… may be I’ll try for Half-Marathon…

Who wants to win… I just want to be a part of it… :-)>

Failures often teach us more…

Way back in 2001, mid July, when I couldn’t clear my CA final in first attempt I was broken… my biggest dream shattered in front of my eyes… I was crying like a kid… my tears made all in my family cry… I had given everything to achieve it and it failed…

It took me some days to come out of that trauma…

My Dad always used to say… clearing examination is not the only thing in life… you will have to face many worse situations in your life… the sooner you encounter failure the better equipped you will be in future…

At that time those were just encouraging words, which I thought he said to console me…

Some people said… it was bad luck… some said… I was overconfident… some said… may be I never deserved it… some said… It always happens in CA

The ones very close to me… just stood by me and gave me the courage to bounce back…
I told to my GF… “Its enough… next time I’m not going to allow luck to play a spoil sport in my celebration… am gonna crack it… come what may…”

May be that’s what my dad always wanted to teach me… the ability to bounce back…
And with all the blessings, I did it… soon I celebrated my Success…

And that failure taught me one thing… “Never Give Up”

Be it our personal life or professional life we do encounter failures… ofcourse no failure is ever permanent nor is any success…
But I’ve seen many people prefering to sink than to swim out…
May be some people just like to gather that false sympathy than really fighting themselves out of that situation…

Why I’m talking all this crap is… today results were out of CA final… and a very close friend of mine who was struggling since years to clear this… finally made it.

I was the lucky one to see his result first and I called him immediately… the happiness in his voice brought tears in my eyes… and I was so happy for him…

May be the brief conversation we had made me blog this and took me back to my time…

He also got very senti and asked me… “Did I deserve so much of wait & pain”… I had no words… He continued… “In all these years of my struggle and during all my bad times you were always there for me… not even once you left me alone”… I was touched…I said… “That’s what friends are for”

When I was going thru a very bad phase in my personal life… he was always there for me… we used to chat for hours on YM… that was the time we developed a fantastic rapport…

I have learned one thing … if you want to judge any relationship then judge it when you are in the worse of the situation… when you have failed… when you are in tears.
The difference between a true close relationship and a casual relationship can’t get clearer than during the time when we are in a bad phase…

Yesterday while I was chatting with Akruti, (one of her friend had also appeared for CA finals)…
She said… if the results are not positive then I’ll have to go and meet him…
I said… if they are positive still you will have to meet to take the party…
She replied… then I’ll take the treat afterwards… its more important to be there during tough times and I don’t mind if I’m not there during the times of happiness… (somewat in these lines)
I said… Wow… I’m also like that :-) (And her friend also cleared… congrats)

So whenever I go thru a rough phase… I don’t only test my resilience but also the tenderness of the ones close to me…

No wonder I’m so proud of my friends… and I feel I’ve got the best… after all I’ve got my own ways to filter them ;-)

Resolutions... Do U have any ???

This is the first post of the New Year…
Some submissions in office slowed down my blogging speed ;-)

Not a great new years start for my blog… but am always a slow starter ;-)

The moment New Year starts… one starts talking about New Year resolutions… well I never had one… never intent to have one…

But I was wondering if people around me start expecting New Year resolutions from me then what it would be… and what would be my thought…

My Mom: He better keeps his room clean… those files n papers are every where… shoes below the bed… n clothes… OMG… they are everywhere except the shelf n hangers ;-)… better he keeps everything intact…
Me: The messier my room the less chances of Mom entering it… so lemme keep it the way it is.

Dad: He reduces his movie watching… a movie a week… some better utilization of time is possible
Me: Good my dad doesn’t know about my back to back movie craze ;-)

Sis: He better logs off from my PC soon… why he needs to be online every day ;-)
Me: Lemme shift the PC to my room.

My Best Pal: He better stop clicking those video clips when am drunk… that’s quite embarrassing
Me: Planning to create a whole video library… will share with his wife n kids...

My friends group in general: What fun this guy finds in Blog… hez stopped mailing us… better he gives the same priority to us...
Me: Will turn you all bloggers one day ;-)

My Blogging Pals: He better stop flaunting himself by posting pics without shirt n all...
Me: Planning to join gym so that a future pic change can be in Salman Khan’s style.

My Boss: He should start leaving office in time... I doubt if there is that much of pressure to sit late...
Me: If you give me enough pressure to handle my Blog life during regular hours... even I would like to leave on time ..

My GF: Will this guy ever stop flirting… atleast this year he should change…
Me: I’ll be the most boring guy if I stop flirting… and I know it gives u enough reason to fight with me… and which gives u lots of happiness too…

So resolutions... do you have any ;-) ???
