Married OR Happy ???
A common question we ask people…
What if, we replace OR with AUR of Hindi (Aur = and)… he he he he
Ya that’s how couples are in the initial years of their marriage, no experience in this area so far… just spreading the word of mouth.
One of my very good friend got married yesterday, and that’s what made me blog this. It’s always so fun to attend the weddings of your closed ones… and I love the way marriages are conducted over here… all the customs and traditions… they are just wow… all those small small things carry so much of meaning.
Couple of months back, they met for the first time and now they will together for the lifetime…
A typical “Arranged Marriage”– “CHAI LAO” types ;-). All good and nicely done, guy liked the girl and the girl liked the guy, both are from the same caste, both professionals and all correct ticks as there should be in an arranged marriage questionnaire.
Formal engagement was done a month back and marriage was earlier scheduled in the later part of the year, but god had some different plans… I think he has passed a reconciliation entry, must of have thought that since he took almost 25yrs for their first meet… why waste more days…
She had so less time to prepare for the wedding. Also due to shortage of time they went for “Arya Samaj” marriage, will get court’s marriage certificate in couple of days so that she can apply for the passport as she will moving to London… sounds great isn’t it.
By so less time I meant so less time to spend with her family, friends and closed ones… so less time to accept the fact that she will be in a altogether new world… new relations… new dreams… new expectations… new hopes… but the irony is how much ever time a girl will get it will be always less.
It’s so tough for a girl to leave her home, family, her own life and to be a part of new home, family and to live a new life… hats off…
I wish them a very happy married life… (Setting aside the fact that happy and married are antonym… he he he ;-)>… kidding)
Many many Congratulations…
“I love being married. It's so great to find that one special person you want to annoy for the rest of your life.”

Hi Puneet ,
Must say a lovely post ...really touching !!! . Good to know that u understand what a girl needs to undergo .Very few people can accept this fact , and happy to know tht u r one among them.
It really requires a lot of patience and understanding on the part of a girl to accept and mould herself in the new environment, and so only God has bestowed women with Patience , Mental strength and above all Power to forgive things.
Well although i also appreciate that , its not only the women who needs to compromise , but also Men have to , coz he has to stike a balance in supporting his better half on one hand (who has come to a new place leaving everything) and his parents (who has brought him up to where he today stands)on the other hand.
So only Marriage is rightly called as a compromise on both the ends for a better future.
Well i guess i have already utilised enough of ur space .....lolz its equivalent to a post on a blog ;)

Married & Happy?
hmmmmm good one
@ deepali... thanks so much for those kind words... i agree with you that both have to make certain compromises to get the married life going in a great way...
Having a whole group of female friends do help in a lot of way ;-)
Don't worry about the space... its unlimited ;-) take as much as u want...my pleasure
good to know you liked the post...
keep coming... cheers
@ Keshi...ya married aur happy should go together...else its not worth it :-)... btw in India its not always that the person whom one gets married to is the one they really like or truly love... most of the time the decision is imposed by their parents...
sad na... but its a truth
Thanks so much for those sweet words... take care and keep coming ;-)
@ boldnbeautiful... Thanx so much.. ;-)) cheers
hey Puneet I know...even in Sri Lanka most of the time marriages r arranged...the funny thing is when ur in love usually the parents disagree?? I dun get it...but I guess our culture has it's drawbacks as much as it has it's great qualities...
marriage is a sacred institution which should be based on Love, Trust and Faith...if all exists then it's great...if not it's only a convenient agreement :)
Keshi.
WOW..puneet you took from one level to another levels of emotions..I must say !!! :D
I liked the humor in all...even the last part..:D...but I also believe...if parents blessings are there then...no matter love or arranged...they all become hindi ka "AUR" ;) ..my best wishes to the couple as its new journey in a new country altogether...am sure it will bring them more close..:D!!!
Best wishes always
