Last weekend me and my friends were wandering in the streets of South Mumbai… 3 of us were just walking without any destination and chatting along… one of my friend stops near a restaurant and thinks of experimenting with new food… it was a “Lebanese and Iranian” restaurant…
A pretty decent looking restaurant… as soon as the menu booklet came in, I and the other friend of mine… started commenting in a low voice… as if we are ordering the waiter
My Friend: Ek Kanda Bhajiya La
Me: Sath main cutting chai
(Menu page is turned…)
My friend: Ek Veg Chicken Kabab
Me: One omelette with no Egg
My friend: Pura Menu dekh liya sirf Paani acha hain…
Me: Ye Starter end kab hota hain
The friend who got us in was wondering what are we upto…
After a long struggle I ordered “Homos Garlic Roll”… now don’t ask me what is that.
I still couldn’t figure out…
Roll was of Maida… some French fries inside… homos and garlic sauce (the combination is yaks)… no salt… no pepper… I only know how I had it… same was the scene with my other friends… I can’t remember what they had ordered… but their body language said what were they into…
Thanks to Lemon Ice Tea… which helped me to improve the taste of my mouth…
I could recall the quote, "Eat at this restaurant and you'll never eat anywhere else again"
We then walked down from Regal to Churchgate Sea face… it was required to digest ;-)))
After reaching home I had Maggie for dinner as I had told mom that I would be eating out… he he he

It was good one. I bet, Nothing can beat Indian spice food. Dal, Chawal, roti is just best.

BnB Waiter:- Sir US me chicken is consider to be Veg. Sir do u want me to add French beans+ Capsicum+alu+ chicken for a kabab?
Me: One omelette with no Egg
BnB Waiter:- do u prefer Tomoto or onion omlete sir?
My friend: Pura Menu dekh liya sirf Paani acha hain…
BnB Waiter:- Sir paani is the Costlier Dish in our menu.
Me: Ye Starter end kab hota hain
BnB Waiter:- Agar Starter end hone wale jaisa hai tho, we would have named it Ender not a starter
ha ha ha.
Hehe didnt u'stand the Hindi convo bit but I sure u'stand why u didnt like the food...I simply adore Indian food with all those spices n aromas...no other cuisine can beat that, sorry others! :)
Living in Aus I have tasted many other cuisines...Leb, Greek, Spanish, Turkish, Asian, Jap, Italian, French etc etc...but like u, I feel like I havent eaten properly if I miss out on anything Indian everyday lol! So yeah, I'm hooked on Indian :)

@ Keshi...so here are the words from some1 who has experienced a whole lot of variety... thanx so much... I'm a Pure Veg... so i have not tried most of the other cuisines... not much options for vegetarians...

Im still smiling at your restaurant experience. Most middle eastern veg foods have salads and mixed with hommoos, their main ingredient. It does taste bland but I like Falafels the best. Next time if you are ever forced to go to any middle eastern restaurant, do try it. And yes, nothing compares to the Indian foods.
Nice pictures, would be nice if you had lil captions describing the fun you folks had.

I have heard similar stories from my office collegues who have visited Russia few months back!
I have heard from my frens that in european countries apart from UK it is very difficult to explain what is meant by vegetarian stuff !

hey...lebanese its amazing...as we have one in Canada...Homos and the wraps are really good..dunno abt here...but I love there mixed frutis n nuts drink...its a big meal in itself :)...believe me..me no kidding...!!!
